Concept: Good management and control on building shapes and forms, such as forming a sense of order about the outlook of buliding, could be an important step for constructing democratic architecture.
Here is a definition of Democratic Architecture: http://democraticarchitecture.tumblr.com/DA
Theme :multiculturalism.
The marker contains two parts. For Part A, I would rather show the aboriginal culture. For Part B, the architectural style tends to be concise and modern, which can express western culture.
I subdivided and smooth part A to make striking difference and contrast with part B, making it easier to understand the meaning of cultural differences.
Details in marker

NO.1 The picture left inspired me to create Geometric glass window. On one hand, the geometric shapes are beautiful ornament for the building. On the other hand, it can form light spot and make the interior more fun. (
Ornament must have a function)

No.2 Stairs
No.3
- The round seat, circle viewing platform and spiral stairs are similar to Otto's design style.
- The long platform links Part A and Part B provides public space for using. It is not just a bridge links two buliding, the function of it could be changed as people's different demand. So it makes the marker more democratic for the Blacktown citizens.
- Circle viewing platform is located in a high position, allowing people to view the landscape of Blacktown in each orientation.
- Round Seat is connected, standing for the aboriginal culture.(Aboriginal people have special celebration which is usually held around the stones).
I use Aboriginal dot painting as the textures on the bridge that links to part A and Part B.
